The Oscar and Juan Gálvez Racetrack in Buenos Aires is undergoing a modernization process with the goal of regaining its capacity to host top-level competitions on a global scale. In this context, Carlos Ezpeleta, Chief Sporting Officer of Dorna Sports, visited the facilities to supervise the ongoing works and hold a meeting with the involved teams.
During his visit, Ezpeleta was accompanied by representatives from AUS, the company responsible for coordinating the works, and the Sports Secretariat of Buenos Aires, which oversees the circuit's operations, as well as the technical teams from Grupo OSD, the historic promoter of the Argentine Grand Prix of MotoGP.
The modernization project is led by the design studio Dromo, headed by Italian architect Jarno Zafelli, and seeks to adapt the layout to the international standards required by the FIA and FIM. These improvements would allow the racetrack to once again bid to host top-level events, such as Formula 1 and MotoGP, thus increasing Argentina's presence on the international motorsport calendar.
Grupo OSD, with experience in building circuits like the International Termas de Río Hondo and the El Villicum Racetrack, reaffirms its commitment to the development of motorsport in the country. Orlando Terranova highlighted that this project is another important step in the commitment to motorsport in Argentina and emphasized the importance of continuing to work on quality infrastructure.
As details are finalized for a new edition of the Argentine MotoGP, the progress in Buenos Aires marks a key milestone in the modernization of national motorsport.
